This project was designed as a set decor for Ondine by Giraudoux, which premiered on stage in November, 2016. The three panels were conceived in monumental fashion to lend a dramatic effect to the stage and convey the tormented atmosphere of the third act. Water is a recurrent theme throughout the play and was thus the main source of inspiration for this project. Act III is at once tragic and poetic, which informs the heavy contrasting of colors in the panels, the interplay of soft blue and opaque black. On stage, the spotlights cast these colorful highlights onto the actors’ white clothes.
